This piece was commissioned by a Southern California home owner who requested an interpretation of the setting sun slowly touching the waters of the Pacific viewed from her private boat dock. After creating the conceptual design, Kiril Kostov deployed the Atelier Bolyar team to execute this design using bunches of colorful loose fibers. The work on the project spanned almost tree months. By the end close to 3 million stitches were embroidered to complete this 8 x 15 feet composition.
