Inspired by the Celtic Knot
A large range of stylized knots used for decoration are known as Celtic knots. Such interwoven patterns first appeared in the handcrafts of the Roman Empire. This form was extensively adopted later in Byzantine, Celtic, Coptic and Islamic art. The deeply symbolic, theological and philosophical interpretation of the knot can be traced as far back as 2500 BCE when used by the early Celts in Britain. In its purest form, the knot is believed to represent eternal life. Undulating, always changing, with no end and no beginning.
